LiDAR (The Precision Upgrade) On compatible LiDAR-enabled devices, Solvida upgrades from standard mapping to LiDAR. This is the same high-end technology used in self-driving cars to perceive the world in 3D. It works by firing thousands of invisible laser pulses every second and measuring the time they take to bounce back from a surface. This allows Solvida to build a near-perfect 3D model of your garden in real time. While standard mapping is excellent for general placement, LiDAR allows for centimetre-accurate mapping of shadows from fences, the specific slope of your land, and the exact structure of your trees. It transforms the app from a helpful tool into a professional-grade survey instrument.
